Awesome photos! Love the website too! I shall be returning to your site from time to time for recipes, inspiration and just to behold beautiful food photographs!

I aspire to photograph food as a way of sharing how much I am enjoying life and food. How do you take such evocative and vibrant shots??!! What sort of set-up do you use? Does your photography interfere with your meal? ;) I ask because I struggle to take photos just before serving!

    Thanks for your time.

    Keep up the good work!

Hi Lisa, thanks so much for your lovely comment. Appreciate it.

I use a simple point and shoot camera. I always shoot only during day time usually before 2 pm. The photo session does not interfere with lunch time as I always shoot before my son arrives from school since the cooking is done at least 20-30 mts before he comes home. I finish my photo session and then lay the table. When I prepare a plate of food and I want to take that picture, I usually set up the photo shoot while cooking and just before eating, take my plate to the set up (lots of natural light), take quick shots and am done with it. :)

    Hi Sailu,

I found your exciting blog site only today and have spent an hour enjoying your beautiful photos of Andhra foods. You can’t imagine how excited I am!

I am Japanese and spent one month in the peaceful city of Vishakhapatnam 8 years ago, and can still recall how wonderful Andhra cuisines were. At that time I did not want to return home because I loved the food so much. I had not thought of making Indian dishes by myself but after eight years of not finding proper South Indian restaurants in a couple of places I’ve stayed, I looked some recipes in a couple of Indian cooking websites. But none of them was as detailed as yours, and I eventually gave up.

Now I am motivated. I hope I can manage to make some by myself: I shall start with dosa and sambar. Thanks for sharing your recipes with us!

    Hi Sailu,

I know there are thousands of secret admirers (who didnt comment on ur recipes), I am one of them.

I have tried many of our recipes and every time they turned out to be very good.

I have a request for ur website. Please add a printable version beside each recipe, so we can get to print and emulate ur recipes for our families.

    Sravanthi.
